In an earlier post I mentioned that Gartner Inc. have been banging the agile promotion drum looking to attract people to their next summit….well I was a little horrified to find that David Norton, a research director for Gartner Inc. referring to Agile 2.0 as agile for the enterprise…surely you jest David…if you are, then apologies for the remainder of this post.
Why is it that people, like David, feel the need to take something like the original agile manifesto and principles, and evolve it into something else, and at worst claim it as their own, or at best charge people nearly $3k to listen to you talk about it?
If you want to be inventive fine, create a new method or a new model that doesn’t already exist which is in line with the agile principles…then I might attend your workshop, seminar, webinar, summit, whatever!
Here’s another person who is offended with the concept of Agile 2.0 dating back to 06’ http://agileworld.blogspot.com/2006/08/agile-20.html.
